I feel a lot of new affiliates and experienced ones, feel that there is a barrier to becoming a super affiliate. I know I feel that way, or at least I did for the last 5 years and am only starting to change my mind set.
For some reason we feel that the super affiliates have some sort of secret sauce that we have not found, it’s eluded us but we will eventually stumble upon it.
There is no Secret
If you’re one of those affiliates who has been looking for that secret to appear, stop looking, it ain’t gonna happen, you have everything you need to be successful right in front of your face.
I know it’s frustrating to think that we’re not missing anything, and in a way we are missing something but it’s not:
- Software
- Link building tool
- secret conversion script
- any other secret/special item
What we’re missing is belief that we can make big things happen.
We All Have the Same Tools
A wise affiliate marketer and SEO (Jerry West of WebMarketingNow) once said to me: “We all have access to the same tools, same information etc. it’s what we do with it that makes the difference”
When he said that to me I sort of passed it over at first, but thinking about it these past couple of days I’ve realized that it’s true.
While some affiliates may have a bigger ad budget, more to spend on link building or graphic design none of them have access to any silver bullet.
It’s All About Trying and Failing
While I hate to use the word “fail” it’s the truth. The faster you can try something, realize it does or doesn’t work and move on the better you’re going to be.
I wrote a post about Acting without conviction, it was basically talking about don’t wait until all the stars align and everything feels perfect to try something… Just freakin get started.
We must be creative to be successful affiliates.
We must look to new methods of generating traffic, finding prospects and putting our offers in front of potential buyers.
We have access to all the same info as the big guys, what we need to do is use it. We must take MASSIVE action towards our goals but still keep things focussed.
So with all this said how can you best use this information?
Start with One Offer
I am going to suggest that if you have 10 sites or 100 sites or no sites yet start with just one offer and make it super freakin successful.
Having 10 different projects you’re working on and trying to get rankings, traffic and everything else for is a recipe for disaster. By focusing on only one product/offer and making a killing with it you’ll give yourself a better chance of success.
By not committing to one offer you’re leaving yourself open to potentially leaving it before you make it big.
Most super affiliates (making 5-6 figures a month) that I’ve spoken with are working with only 1-3 offers at a time. I know that might seem crazy but it’s the absolute best use of their resources.
By going about things this way you can best corner the market for that product and reap the rewards of increased commissions, special attention from affiliate mangers etc.
I know this post was a bit scattered today, but I often flesh out ideas in my posts as I write. I hope you go something of value from reading this today!
