Are You Spreading Yourself Too Thin?

by admin on March 23, 2011

I’ve been struggling the last couple of weeks feeling like I have too much to do and not enough resources to do it all. I’ve been looking for a solution to this problem. First I thought maybe if I hired another VA or two. Then that made me feel like it would add more work to my plate in order to train them. Then I thought maybe I could partner with someone who could help me manage part of my business, but again not the ideal option.

Yesterday I watched a video over at the Strategic Profits blog. It talked about our biggest obstacles and as I was doing some mind mapping about this I began to uncover that the root issue I was having is I am in too many markets. I’m trying to create two powerful engines for ranking, converting and making money from affiliate programs in two very different markets.

Well you might be saying “Wait I’m in like 20 different markets with Niche sites”. That’s cool, you can be in as many markets as you want with niche sites but if your goal is to control a market and OWN all the top converting keywords for that market then you’re going to be approaching things differently.

To do this you’ll need a network of sites that capture a lot of rankings and also help you rank your other sites (which is for another post entirely).

I’ve got a bit off track this morning for this post, but the point of it all is that often as affiliates it seems easy to be in many markets at once. However it takes away from our focus and resources. If you’re feeling some what paralyzed with what you should be doing next. Or if you’re just getting started and have too many irons in the fire watch today’s video and I think you might be able to help find some clarity for yourself.
